The New York City S&M Community is a profound, multifaceted pool of people, places and things. It's an extraordinarily rich subculture, and whether you are a novice or a seasoned kinkster, there is always more to learn, new places to go, things to see, toys to play with and beautifully decadent individuals to meet with whom you may develop D/s (Dominant/submissive) relationships, friendships and more. This past week was the annual NYC Fetish Marathon, and as an active member of the Fetish community, I found myself invited to many of the organized events offered. I couldn't go to each and every one, unfortunately, but I will share with you my experiences at those I did attend.

I started off the week with a very enjoyable foot worship session at a lovely dungeon I rent space from in the Chelsea area of Manhattan. My client was from Australia, and it was our first meeting. He was very personable and curious about me, the S&M scene here in America, and we spent most of the hour chatting away while he massaged my feet thoroughly. We finished our time together with a bit of experimentation. He had never been smacked in the face with the soles of a beautiful woman's feet before, so I slapped him in the face a bit with my feet. He sat before me with an expression of awe and our shared amusement unconcealed on his face. I should mention that I positively adore "foot boys." Foot & shoe worshippers are wonderful, they know how to make a woman feel like a Goddess, and of course, they know their place... under foot! I also love to push the limits of my submissives. Not in a way that is dangerous, since I intensely respect everyone's boundaries, but in a way that will stretch their imagination and levels of experience to new and incredible heights.

Tuesday evening was spectacular, and possibly my favorite instance of the NYC Fetish Marathon this year. I attended the Museum of Sex for a class on the Art of Sensual Feminine Dominance given by the world renowned sex-educator and S&M community Goddess, Midori. When class began, my first impression of this petite, sophisticated woman was a keen interest to hear about her experiences, skills and to experience the humorous, clever style of instruction that has attributed to her notoriety. Over the course of the two hour interactive lecture, Midori became my new Fem Domme icon. She has taken the taboo subject matter of the S&M lifestyle and, in this particular class, the Dominant Woman, and she has mastered the art of delivering the kinkiness in such a way that anyone can grasp it and become more interested in it. One can never know enough when it comes to BDSM. The wise will continue to seek knowledge from those with more experience. The innovative will accept that there is no way that they can know everything, and they will appreciate S&M educators like Midori for all that they are worth... a vast, erotic goldmine of information!

Regrettably, I was unable to attend the Baroness' Fetish Retinue and Royal Amusements Dinner on Wednesday evening, because I had a previously scheduled fetish photoshoot with the amazing fetish and fine art photographer, Michael Menard. It was worth it, though, as Michael and I were able to complete some promotional photosets for Wisconsin band, "Time to Kill," and UK horror/sci-fi publication, "Morpheus Tales," as well as several incredible new Fetish photos for our portfolios.

The NYC Fetish Marathon brings in kinksters from all over the world, and this year was no exception. I had the pleasure of finally meeting my friend, the Caribbean dwelling French artist Laurent LeBeau, as a special guest at his Fem Domme Fetish Art Show at the infamous S&M club Paddles on Thursday night. His artwork is remarkable, ranging from foot fetishism, floggings, and more, yet always with the Female Dominant as the supreme centerpiece. It was wonderful to finally view his art in person, with Laurent himself as my guide and curator. Many known figures in the S&M community also came to partake in this celebration of kinky art, and the Night of the Queens Fem Domme party afterwards.

I had the honorable position of Fetish Ambassador on Friday evening at Mistress Didi's Fetish Stimulus Pre-Party. The event was held at a lounge called Fusion on the West Side, and it was a perfect blend of low decibel music, well priced cocktails and fascinating, gorgeous people. My position as Fetish Ambassador was to create conversation between the kinksters (and some vanilla people, too) in attendance, so that people could find new play partners and also meet individuals of like mind and lifestyle. I certainly made a number of new contacts, and I met some potential future submissives as well. An associate of mine attended the event with me. She is a vanilla woman who, little by little, is exploring kink in her personal life. She hasn't been to Fetish Parties, and her reaction was one of pleasure and surprise. She later said that everyone was, "so open and friendly" and that it was, "a real eye opener." Many people are uneasy when confronted with the S&M subculture, but there really isn't any need to be, especially when you have good people helping you along the way until you find your own path.

Don't think that the night ended there! As I mentioned before, Mistress Didi's Fetish Stimulus event was a pre-party for the entire Fetish Marathon weekend! At midnight, arranged shuttles whisked everyone downtown to Le Lupenar for the Paradise Lost "Libertines" ball. I used to co-host the Paradise Lost parties, and I have to admit, they haven't lost the magic touch in providing the NYC Fetish community with high quality kinky parties. The street outside the venue was packed with people, smokers mostly, all dressed in their finest leather, PVC, latex and in some cases, Victorian ball gowns well suited to the Libertines theme. Once inside, you were surrounded by bodies, some at the bar, some writhing on the dance floor, and others on the ground worshipping the feet and legs of their Mistresses. The separate dungeon area downstairs was a flurry of activity as well... individuals strapped to St. Andrew's crosses in every corner being flogged and spanked, others cheerfully tied in elaborate bondage, a lovely candle wax display between the Baroness herself and Dana (producer of the annual NYC Rubber Ball event & Miss Rubber World pageant), and dozens more scenes in progress. It was positively beautiful.

The SMack! Party on Saturday and the Suspension Play Party on Sunday definitely had the New York City Fetish Marathon 2009 go out with a bang (or in some cases, the delicious crack of a whip on bare flesh)! Back to back events are some of the glorious (and exhausting) prospects of the Fetish Marathon in our fair city. I am looking forward to June 4th, where I am the Hostess of the bi-monthly S&M event "Personal Orgasm View" at Karma Lounge. Our theme this month is Liquid Latex... and if you don't know what that is, rest assured! I'll be discussing it in an article in the near future. Or, if you can't wait, perhaps I'll be painting it on you this Thursday night!
