I met my husband at a coffee house in Pasadena, he was a Barista there and i used to walk into the coffeehouse to wait for my roommate who was attending a near-by college. Little-by-little i noticed small perks like free coffee, pastries, he would even save a table just for me and my friends (on busy nights too), so of course i said "yes" when he asked me out.
We took things very slow, built a friendship first, eventually it developed into a more serious relationship and it felt natural. I had always been the pessimistic type, but he managed to tear down my walls and barriers. We dated for five years and were engaged for three. As newlyweds we moved into our first apartment and went through the trials and tribulations of any young couple: deciding who cleans what, getting upset when someone doesn't clean up after themselves, or leaving the toothpaste uncapped. It was challenging but we got through those first few years. Everyday that passed I felt we were building a tight, unbreakable bond. My husband was warm, loving, fun, generous. I had no reason to think that would ever change.
